A Little Bit of History

How do I describe my trip back east to Washington D.C? First of all, I don't think I can summarize the trip into a single word, let alone, many. I just have to say, "WOW!" I was amazed by the vast amounts of green trees, everywhere! I had forgotten just how beautiful the East Coast truly is. This was my first visit to D.C. I relished in the feeling of being able to witness some of the history of our nation, as well as honor some of our founding fathers.

To say it was a treat to accompany my sister for some photography sessions and a HUGE fundraiser event she was hired to photograph, is a tremendous understatement. I was so fortunate to tag along, watch her in action and get in some touring with my parents. Amazingly enough, they are both in Wash. D.C. serving as volunteers for our church for the next year!

The fave for me had to be the Lincoln Memorial! I can't express enough gratitude towards this amazing man, with insurmountable courage and integrity.

The Gettysburg Address

I will never forget the feeling I had, seeing this monument... being right there.

My sis, posing by the Vietnam Memorial Wall. Seeing thousands upon thousands of names. Tragic.
I am so blessed that our dad returned safely.

I loved all the intricate carving in the stone on the pathway up to the Capital Building.

We stayed in the St. Regis. I couldn't take my eyes off the ceiling!

Many more pictures can be found on our family blog. Just wanted to share a few!
